Throwback Thursdays: Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See

Do you really wanna party with me/Let me see just what you got for me/Put all your hands where my eyes could see/Straight buck wildin’ in the place to be

What is it about this beat that just makes you want to bang it out on a lunch table? That’s exactly what me and 9th grade friends were doing in the cafeteria back in ‘97. There’s something about the Seal & Crofts’ “Sweet Green Fields” sample that’s infectiously classic.

And then there’s the video – back when Busta Rhymes was Flipmoding, and no longer getting down with the Leaders the New School, and Hype Williams was all about the fish-eye lens.

In the late 90s, there was no other male hip-hop artist that delivered a high energy music video like Busta. From the “Coming to America” feel to the choreographed dance routine to Alek Wek ascending from the water – “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See” was video magic.

I miss the old Busta.
