Dear Fall, we’re ready

When I grow up…I want to keep growing

This past Sunday, I held a “Dear Fall, Brunch” at mi casa. A group of homieboos came over with yummy eats and in the spirit of transition, we welcomed the new season and spoke life into who and where we want to be this fall.

Perfect way to end an amazing weekend.

Inspired by what we shared yesterday, our girl Mandy sent all of us the following Holstee manifesto, that I’ve decided to make part of personal life stance. Just printed it out and I have it hanging in my cublicle:

  1. YES! The brunch was the TRUTH and just what I needed to start the season off right. Thanks for the great idea kat. Annnnnnd i’m also in love with this manifesto. I especially love the line “all emotions are beautiful.” We spend too much time trying to not feel anything, or brush hard times off in the sprit of “positivity” but nothing is wrong w going through a rough patch. Every emotion is a part of life. Speaking of positivity, I recently read a REALLY interesting book by Barbara Ehrenreich called “Bright Sided: How the relentless promotion of positive thinking has undermined america.” More info: http://www.alternet.org/health/143187 Highly recommended. But I digress.

I’m seriously going to have to blow up that life stance and make it some sort of piece of art for my apartment. Snap- fall 2010 DIY art project in full effect. Hollerblack!

  2. OMG JESS! What a great idea! I just had a vision of a huge, humongous print of the manifesto that takes up an entire wall. Hmmmmmm.

And thanks for the book recommendation, putting it on my list.

  3. I printed this out and put it on my wall in my cube today. A gigantic sign with this would be amazing.

    Awesome event, Kat!

  4. Jenny B,

I will definitely be printing this out! So timely and perfect for my current state.
Thanks Boo :) …and her friend Mandy :)
