NEW LOVE: Eucalyptus Steam Baths

eucalyptus leavesI know, I know, it’s been too long. I have so much to share and I don’t even know where to start. I pinky promise I’ll be back more consistently next week.

In the meantime and in between time, I have to share a new favorite!

Wednesday night I couldn’t sleep past 4AM due to the heatwave, so I decided to get an early start on the day and head to the gym. While showering after my workout, I discovered a eucalyptus steam room and fell in love!

The mixture of the eucalyptus oil and  steam helped relax my muscles  and ease my breathing. I felt completely refreshed and ready to start my day.

A few months ago, I saw this post on Apartment Therapy about hanging a bunch of eucalyptus leaves from your showerhead. The steam from a hot bath or shower causes the leaves to emit a relaxing fresh clean smell. This will be perfect pick-me-up for winter days.

After my reinvigorating experience at the gym, I’m going to replicate the  eucalyptus steam room in my space for sure. I love the idea of bringing a bit of outside inside. Also, the leaves make a great room freshener since its antiseptic nature kills bacteria and germs in the air.

Off to find eucalyptus leaves this weekend!

**UPDATE** My girl Steph hooked it up and bought me some eucalyptus leaves from Whole Foods. I tied twine around the stem and have them hanging from the base of my shower head.
